Background: Dustin has participated in sports year-round since the age of 5. Once he reached college, he was fortunate enough to earn a scholarship on the University of Akron Track and Field team where he competed for four years. Dustin was a discus, hammer, and weight thrower and had success in becoming a national qualifier, MAC champion, All Ohio champion, and school record holder. He also earned awards as strength and conditioning athlete of the year, and MAC athlete of the week. After Dustin’s eligibility was completed, he continued on as an assistant coach for a year. This experience helped him decide that working with athletes was a passion he wanted to pursue. Dustin became a personal trainer for a few years, but decided he wanted more. He went back to pursue his Master’s at the University of Akron and worked as a strength and conditioning coach for varsity sports while earning his degree. While there, Dustin had the amazing opportunity to work with all of the sports teams, most notably the national champion soccer team and the MAC champion and NCAA tournament men’s Basketball team.

Why Dustin Loves CrossFit: “I have been an athlete my entire life and have tried all different training methods. I can honestly say that CrossFit, if done correctly, is the best way to get fit. Why? Because it incorporates everything: Olympic lifting, power lifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, swimming, climbing, etc. CrossFit can be whatever you want it to be. My personal goal with CrossFit is to be able to do any physical activity and know that I am prepared for it. Whether it is lifting a heavy stone in my yard and doing yard work all day or going out to run a few miles if I feel like it (which if you know me, isn’t all that often).”
